Calitabby Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all sites and services that are part of the Calitabby Network. These include:

• The websites at calitabby.net, calitabby.com, crispy.cat and any subdomains, such as git.calitabby.net
• Other web-accessible services at those domains and their subdomains such as Calitabby Matrix

Data Collected

The exact data collected varies between services, however it will generally include the following:

• Connection information such as your IP address, operating system and browser user agent
• Account identifiers such as a username
• Other information associated with your accounts, such as passwords or email addresses
• Other information you submit, such as unencrypted Matrix messages and Fediverse posts

Data Security

All Calitabby services are set up to use best practices such as HTTPS transport encryption and password hashing. Some services may offer additional security, for example end-to-end encryption of messages in some Matrix rooms.

Logs and analytics

Calitabby services may log some basic request data such as the time of request, IP address and page accessed. Logs are typically rotated (deleted) every 1-2 weeks. Some logs may aggregated and used for first-party, server-side analytics, for example counting how many times each page is accessed.

Data Sharing

Your data is only shared for the following purposes:

• With contractors, such as VPS providers, to operate the services
• With other nodes of federated services, such as Matrix and Fediverse
• For promotion of the services, with your explicit permission
• To comply with a lawful court order under United States and Pennsylvania law

Hosting and Jurisdiction

All Calitabby Network services are hosted on VPS on contract from Incognet and Ionos in the United States, and an on-premises server in Pennsylvania, United States. United States law applies to all Calitabby Network services.

Request your data

You can request the following actions pertaining to your data by sending an email to the address in the Contact section:

• A complete download of your data in an archive format (tar.gz by default, please specify if you need another format)
• Alteration of your data where such alteration is not made possible through the services
• Deletion of your data and by effect accounts (it may not be possible to delete usernames)
• A combination of the above

Requests should typically be fulfilled within 7 days; to expedite this process please specify which services you use/want the request to apply too as well as any relevant usernames, emails, or other identifiers. Unless otherwise specified responses will be sent to the email address from which the request came, using the PGP key included in the request if available. Data downloads will be made available using a password-protected HTTPS download from a Calitabby Network server for 7 days, after which it will be deleted.
